Rhythm-troid
/!\ The game can take a few seconds to load particles right after the title screen. No worries /!\
YOU CAN TOGGLE DIFFICULTY ADJUSTMENT AT ANYTIME: J (more checkpoints) and K (no beat)!!!
This game's idea is widely inspired by 140 which is a great game! I tried to go from there and add a Metroidvania twist to it.
How to play:
- Keyboard: use arrows/WASD to move and jump. You can also jump with spacebar
- Controller: left stick/d-pad to move, A to jump, B for down key (trying not to spoil)
Tips:
Some actions will require to play on beat. If you can't do that consistently, you can tick the "no need to play on beat" checkbox! Keep in mind that you might find skips I did not think of since I did not extensively test the game with this feature.
You can also have more checkpoints placed on map by ticking the "more checkpoints" option.
You can toggle these at anytime with J (more checkpoints) and K (no beat)!!!
Assets and music:
Pretty much everything was made by me, except for fonts and one particles sprite sheet. I used Bosca Ceoil to make the music.
I reused and improved former code for the "tap on beat" part (see my previous rhythm games).

Very cool game but I don't think it's possible to get throught this room on-beat
duh-dah----duh-dah(?) - YouTube
(Don't mind obs lagging at the start lol.)
(Might write an actual review coment later, just wanted to point this out for now)
(Edit: wait a bit youtube is being unpleasant. Ok raw link it is)
Actually you can! You must channel the super jump before (you can hold it forever) then move on the spikes when they hide and finally release on beat as they show again ^^
Gotta admit it's quite a puzzle.
Ohhhh, I didn't realize you could move while holding it damm.
Thank you tho, I'll try again later x)
